A chicken nugget is classic finger food that is hard to resist for kids and kids at heart. The crispiness outside and softness inside is what makes this breaded chicken stand out, plus the cute shapes which made to attract kids. But have you already tried this at home? you better give this a try and you'll see they are 100% better than take-out.
These so-called “processed foods” like hotdogs and nuggets are bought because of their tasty appeal and they’re ready-to-cook. But what if you can make them just as tasty but healthier and still easy to make? Would you give it a try? Here’s my version of protein-rich chicken nuggets where I used boneless chicken breast. Delizioso!
INGREDIENTS
For the Mixture: 500g chicken breast 80g bread (leftover bread) 50g white or brown onion 1 tbsp mustard 1 tsp salt
For the Batter: 80g flour 80g whole milk 1 egg
To Fry: Breadcrumbs 100g Vegetable oil as needed
PREPARATION
Step 1 To make the chicken nuggets, first, prepare the batter: In a bowl pour the flour, egg and milk, salt and mix with the whisk until well combined and smooth.
Step 2 Cover the bowl and sit inside the fridge as you continue the rest of the ingredients.
Step 3 Clean and cut the chicken.
Step 4 Into the mixer put the chicken, onion, mustard and salt. Blend until the mixture detaches from the wall of the mixer. Step 5 Transfer the mixture to the bowl.
Step 6 Moist your hands with water to shape the nuggets to avoid sticking.
Step 7 Taken pieces of dough and form them, it doesn’t matter if they have irregular shapes, what matters is that they are more or less all the same sizes.
Step 8 When all the nuggets are formed dip them one at a time in batter and drain the excess one, then coat with breadcrumbs
Step 9 Heat the oil to a temperature of 160-170°c and fry a few pieces at a time don’t crowd the pan. Cook for a couple of minutes, just enough to brown them evenly.
Step 10 then drain them and transfer them to a sheet of paper absorbent 17. Your chicken nuggets are ready to be enjoyed. The nuggets will be great if accompanied with ketchup, mayonnaise, barbecue sauce or tabasco! Yummy!
TIPS AND TRICKS
For no greasy chicken nuggets, bake in preheated oven at 180°c for 15-25 minutes. You can upgrade the flavors by adding herbs or spices.
